The REDONDO Project proudly announces the successful completion of its hybrid workshop on polymer recyclability, held in Thessaloniki. The event brought together leading experts from academia, research institutions, and industry, creating a dynamic platform to exchange knowledge and discuss the latest advances in sustainable and circular polymer technologies. Inspiring Keynote & Project Insights The workshop opened with an inspiring keynote lecture by Dr. Antoine Duval (Soprema R&D, Mutaxio joint research laboratory), focusing on reversible cross-linking in biobased aromatic covalent adaptable networks and vitrimers.Following this, Professor Dimitrios Bikiaris, REDONDO’s Coordinator, presented an overview of the project’s objectives and milestones. Innovative Approaches to Polymer Recyclability Dr. Vincent Ladmiral and Christina Samiotaki showcased two cutting-edge strategies for the reversible cross-linking of HDPE, underlining REDONDO’s progress toward recyclable thermoset materials.In addition, Pilar Albaladejo Sánchez and Alexandra Zamboulis presented pioneering work on composite materials enhanced with cellulose- and lignin-based additives, further emphasizing the project’s contribution to green and sustainable material design. Hybrid Workshop | 23rd September, Thessaloniki, Greece The REDONDO project is excited to announce another hybrid workshop about Recyclability in Cross-linked Polymers. The workshop will take place in Thessaloniki, Greece, right before the opening of SPE 2025 Conference, that will be held on the premises of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, on September the 23rd, 2025. The workshop includes a keynote lecture from Antoine Duval, member of the BioTeam, from the ICPEES institute and Strasbourg’s University, and presentations from the REDONDO partners on the preparation of reversibly cross-linked polymers and the elaboration of novel bio-based additives and composites. Hybrid Workshop | 2nd October 2025, Lisbon, Portugal The REDONDO project is excited to announce the upcoming, hybrid workshop in  Advancing Recyclable Polymers and composites: Safety, Sustainability, and Material Innovation. The workshop will be hosted in Lisbon by the Instituto de Soldadura e Qualidade (ISQ), the largest Portuguese technological infrastructure, will be held on October 2nd in ISQ facilities.  The Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) framework is gathering significant attention as a guiding principle for innovation, due to growing environmental challenges and evolving regulatory frameworks. The workshop will bring together recognized experts presenting diverse approaches to materials characterization, safety, and sustainability assessments relevant to the development of materials in line with SSbD principles. The program also includes perspectives on standardization and legislation, creating a forum for sharing best practices and exploring SSbD’s role in advancing responsible innovation.
